What a remap does for a petrol Volkswagen Polo

Petrol engines are remapped by refining fuelling, ignition timing and, on turbocharged engines, boost control. Done carefully this releases performance the manufacturer left in reserve, giving sharper throttle response and a stronger top end.

Of the 14 petrol Polo engines in our data, this one comes 12th for power gain, which is 7 bhp below the Polo petrol average of 18 bhp.
